Membership – Types

Registering

Registration is FREE with the option to upgrade at any time.  Some upgrade options require you to have served with an Australian air defence artillery unit, not necessarily the Artillery Corps, members of other support element Corps are also welcome.

On becoming a Full or Associate Member, you will gain access to the Association forum and photo gallery and have other membership privileges.

Membership Privileges

When registering for Association Membership, you agree to abide by the rules and regulations contained within the Association Constitution.


Eligibility

The eligibility requirements are dictated by Rule 5 of the constitution and a person is considered eligible if:

  • they are a person with verified service in any past or present Australian Air Defence Artillery Unit or the Air Land Regiment,
  • they are an immediate family member of a person with verified service in an Australian Air Defence Artillery Unit, or
  • they are a lineal descendant of a person with verified service in an Australian Air Defence Artillery Unit.

Any person or organisation may apply to be a Friend of the Association. All applicants will be assessed by the committee and approved or otherwise on a case-by-case basis.

Full Member

Full membership requires the payment of an annual membership fee. A full member has full access to the website forums and albums, is eligible to vote on Association business and may serve on the management committee.

Associate Member

An Associate member is either an immediate family member or a lineal descendant of another person who would be eligible for full membership. An Associate member pays an annual membership fee. Associate members have enhanced access to the website forums and albums, but are not eligible to vote on Association business or serve on the management committee.

Friend of the Association

A person or organisation who makes a monetary donation or can add value or advantage to the Association may apply to be a friend of the Association. Friends of the Association receive Association notifications, correspondence and newsletters, but are not eligible to vote on Association business or serve on the management committee. Friends of the association will have limited access to the website forum boards. The length of time a person or organisation remains a friend of the association will be at the discretion of the committee and be dependent on the value or advantage the person or organisation can continue to add to the Association. Organisations must nominate a specific person to receive Association correspondence.

Ordinary Member

An Ordinary Member is a person who qualifies for membership and registers with the website forum but does not pay a membership fee. Ordinary members have temporary or limited access to the website forum boards but are not eligible to vote on Association business or serve on the management committee. An eligible person registering for the first time with the Association will receive 7 days of free access to the Associations forums and albums.

Guest Member

A Guest Member is any member of the public who has an interest in the Association and the things we do. Guest do not pay a membership fee but have very limited access and no voting rights.

Life Member

Life Membership is awarded to a member who has rendered exemplary service to the Association. All life memberships shall be approved by the members of The Association at an AGM with greater than 60% majority vote of those present in favour. The member so appointed shall remain a life member of the Association for life with complete access to the website and full voting rights and be exempt from fees.

VIP Member

VIP membership is awarded to a person from the Air Defence Artillery fraternity, who has performed services of a special or exemplary nature toward Australian Air Defence Artillery. VIP Membership must be approved by a majority vote at an Annual General Meeting. VIP members are granted the same privileges as an Associate Member. VIP members who are also eligible for full membership shall be considered full members and granted the applicable privileges. No fees shall apply for VIP members.
